Academic Solutions was established in 2004 and has since then supplied translation,  proofreading and copy-writing and –editing services, working in both documents and websites, for agencies and private clients in the following fields: medical, arts, literary, construction and associated technical areas, boiler technology, commercial, legal, financial. Clients (direct or via agency) have included Rio Tinto.

Caroline Ogden holds a BA (Hons) 1st Class degree in Linguistics with Philosophy and Study of Religion from the University of Hertfordshire and an MA with Distinction in Sociolinguistics from the University of Essex. A member of MENSA, with an education grounded in Latin and traditional English grammar, she speaks and reads French, Spanish and German, with a knowledge also of Italian, Dutch and Greek. In 1995, she became a Scottish Gaelic learner.

She is the author of God: A Beginner’s Guide, published in 2000 by Hodder and Stoughton, and contributed a chapter on the Philosophy of Language to World Philosophy, published by Vega in 2002. She tutors privately in French and English and has taught B Tec Drama and lectured on minority language maintenance and Study of Religion. She currently lectures in Linguistics (with her specialism being The History of the English Language and Language in Society) at the University of Hertfordshire.

She has also been a professional actress for over 30 years, working mostly in repertory and fringe theatre, with some TV, film and commercials (notably IBM and Barclays), has worked with Serendipity Productions, an Essex-based small-scale touring company, since 2000 and has been role-playing the patient in workshops with the NHS since 2008.
